Deadline for informal submissions is 30 January 2015
Bloomberg New Energy Finance is pleased to announce that FiRe 2015 has been officially launched and is accepting new ideas to drive clean energy and climate investment, giving you the chance to influence the sector. They particularly encourage submissions of innovative ideas focusing on risk management, securitisation, distributed solutions, energy poverty, cities and municipalities, climate change adaptation and carbon emissions reduction.
What is FiRe?
FiRe is an open and action-oriented platform that collects, develops and helps implement the best ideas to boost finance for clean energy, climate, sustainability and green growth. In each annual cycle, the Champions spearhead their idea from development, to promotion and through to implementation.
Why get involved?
FiRe is the ideal platform to develop and promote your financial innovation with the help of Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) network. Champions work with the FiRe team to develop their idea into an actionable intervention. Finalists will present at the BNEF Summit in New York. Winners will start implementing their idea after the Summit with support from the FiRe team, mentoring from BNEF topic experts and access to the BNEF news and database.
What makes a good FiRe idea?
1. Aspires to reach $1bn in the first three years
2. Is actionable, hitting concrete milestones within 12 months
3. Is a tangible intervention, not a report, conference or fund
4. Has a willing Champion who will lead on implementation
